Sunday afternoon the Back The Blue NC Team visited the Watauga County Sheriff's Office to deliver the funds raised for the families of Sgt. Chris Ward and K9 Deputy Fox along with handmade memorial plaques. Present were Sheriff Hagaman, Captain Johnson, Mr. Timothy Fox, Annaleise Moody, Candace Ward, and various patrol officers who were shift partners with Fox and Ward. A beneficiary payment of $151,091 was made to the Ward family and $122,058 was made to the Fox family.
Back The Blue NC was humbled to meet the family members of these heroes lost in the line of duty during this very emotional presentation.
Special thanks to the Sheriff's Office for their hospitality and to Laura from Badcock Furniture of Elkin who raised an additional $3,300 to deliver to the Sheriff to be used as needed for their department.
