BTBNC to donate $1,400 to Wake Co. Sheriff's K9 Unit

Back The Blue NC, Inc. will donate $ 1400.00 to the Wake County Sheriff's Office for use by the K9 Unit.


The presentation will be held at the Wake County Sheriff's Office February 1st at 1 pm with staff members of Back The Blue NC, Sheriff Willie Rowe, and the K9 Unit.


On August 11, 2022 Wake County K-9 Deputy Sheriff Ned Byrd was shot and killed while on patrol shortly after 11:00 pm.


Back The Blue NC, Inc. raised funds totaling $6,771 for the Deputy Ned Byrd fund as well as a separate fund for gift baskets for 12 Wake County Sheriff K-9 Officers, and 14 gift baskets for all the Wake County Sheriff K-9's. After the donations and funds for the gift baskets were complete there was an excess of $1,400.00 that Back The Blue NC will donate to the Wake County Sheriff's Office for use by the K9 Unit.


Back The Blue NC will present the check, along with memorial plaques, to the Wake County Sheriff K-9 unit as well as to representatives of the Wake County Sheriff's Office in the lobby of the Public Safety Center, 330 S. Salisbury Street in Raleigh at 1:00 PM.


Back The Blue NC would like to thank the hundreds of people that donated to the K-9 Deputy Ned Byrd fund. The outpouring of generosity was not only from NC, but from around the entire United States as well.


Back The Blue NC, Inc. is a non-profit 501c3 organization that operates with an all-volunteer staff with 100 percent of all proceeds and donations going back to the law enforcement community.
