March Newsletter

First and foremost, Back The Blue NC would like to extend their deepest sympathies to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office and K9 handler Corporal Jamie Lariviere for the line of duty death of K9 Major. K9 Major was tragically shot and killed while attempting to apprehend a dangerous armed robbery suspect who was hiding underneath a residence. K9 Major was a beloved member and servant of the Franklin County community and we commend his bravery and commitment in assisting his handler and department.

From Franklin's neighboring county, the Granville County Sheriff's Office gave this powerful statement regarding K9 Major, "Major’s selfless service and willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice for his fellow SRT members exemplifies the core values of a law enforcement professional. Major’s sacrifice will not be forgotten and serves as a reminder to all in the law enforcement profession the attributes of selfless service that we should all strive to attain."

We made it through March without any law enforcement line of duty deaths, but BTBNC will continue to be there when tragedy strikes here in NC and we cannot do it without your help. Our 10-33 Assistance Program was started for this very reason, to be proactive rather than reactive. Please consider joining the 10-33 Assistance Program for only $10.33 a month. That is less than .34 cents a day! Please visit https://www.backthebluenc.org/1033

Happy National Public Safety Telecommunications Week!

Our team at Back the Blue NC, Inc. would like to thank you for your service and dedication to serving your community and fellow First Responders. We are honored to help in celebrating your service and to bring those voices behind the phone during an emergency to the forefront Most of the time you are the first person to respond to a crisis and become the eyes, ears, and voice while Fire Fighters, Paramedics/EMTS, and Law Enforcement respond to calls. Your ability to collect and relay information is critical to the ability of First Responders to make informed and safe decisions. You truly are the lifeline!
