November Newsletter

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all.

The month of November was a time to remember the fallen before the Holidays. Back The Blue NC was honored to be able to participate in the Concord Christmas Parade alongside the wife and family of Fallen Concord PD Officer Jason Shuping (EOW 12/16/2020). Our collaborative float was dedicated to Honor Officer Shuping’s memory, his service, and to remember and appreciate his sacrifice for the local community.

Our entry was wonderfully received by the thousands of parade onlookers who stood, clapped, and clutched their hearts with admiration and respect. So much love was shown that day that we hope it helped fill the hearts of Ofc. Shuping’s wife, parents, brother, other family members and Law Enforcement Officers who all came together to participate in the parade.

Back The Blue NC would like to thank the Concord Police Department and Carbarrus County Events Association for helping make this all possible as well as a special thank you to Ben Mynatt Chevrolet for sponsoring our float to help us make the day possible.

BTBNC’s online store saw some new items just in time for the Holidays. We have two new flags for sale, after a popular demand from people seeing flags at our in-person events.

The first is the 3’x5’ ‘Thin Blue Line’ flag in black, white and blue. The flag is made of durable, 100% polyester and is designed with 2 heavy-duty metal grommets so it is easy to hang on a flagpole or indoors on a wall. It is an ‘Easy Fly’ flag for low wind areas and is only $10.00.

Our second flag is custom made for us and only available from BTBNC! This flag is also a 3’x5’ flag but is a thicker, fully embroidered, full color in red, white, and blue with a thin blue line running under the star field that has a black line above and below. It is made of durable, 100% polyester and also has 2 heavy-duty metal grommets. They are a steal at only $25.00.

The last new item we added is yet another item you can only get at our online store. Our new #WeSupportYou cards are 2 x 3.5 inch cards that have the perfect message and are easy to share with the officers in your community. They are the same size as a business card so you can keep them in your car, wallet, or purse. These cards are made to be handed out in person or you can just leave them on the windshield of any patrol vehicle.

The cards are sold in sets of 50 and we promise you they will make any officers day! Each pack of 50 cards is only $5.00.

As with all the items we sell you can rest assured that 100% of all the proceeds go back to the children and families of those that have made the ultimate sacrifice.

An update to last month's Newsletter and the work BTBNC is doing with State Rep. Matthew Winslow. BTBNC will be meeting with North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey, Chief State Fire Marshal Brian Taylor, Former Zebulon PD Chief Timothy Hayworth (father of Officer Ryan Hayworth EOW 10/17/21) and Representative Matthew Winslow to on what we hope will become a rule or law for fire trucks at all accident scenes to protect first responders from tragedy. We will continue to keep everyone updated as we continue to work on this.

Lastly, as always, please consider joining our 10-33 Assistance Program: https://www.backthebluenc.org/1033
